There’s a report today of yet another Globe cellsite being bombed in Iloilo, with the act almost always being attributed to the NPA and Globe’s refusal to pay them “revolutionary tax.”
That begs the question: does that mean Smart (of PLDT) pays its revolutionary taxes religiously? Does that mean that PLDT is actually a financier of the New People’s Army?
Of course there’s always another side in a conspiracy theory. Maybe Globe isn’t earning a lot in those areas, and they’re bombing it themselves to earn some insurance?
I wonder what the real deal is.

it’s funny really. one of those dysfunctional things we filipinos do. see… when was the last time the npa been a political movement rather than… as a band of bandits?
it’s always been a matter of point of view. start calling these people bandits instead of rebels or “terrorists” and the whole landscape changes. it kinda changes how people perceive them by doing so.
the “communist party” hide behind ideology that quite frankly their leadership prefers to stay hold up in europe in comfort, i may add. and their “military arm” is a pack of bandits… riding on a credibility they once held.
oh i’m not saying they never had the ideology of “rebels” and such… i’m saying 1) they’re making less sense today and 2) if they were really for the people… they should be doing more things to uplift the lives of the people they send out press release to save.
just look at the autonomous region in mindanao… you’d think muslims leading muslims would change their lives even on the slightest.
we digress.
those so called communist “rebels” have satellite phones, laptop computers… in this day and age of electronic surveillance… its kinda hard press to find a reason why these people aren’t in jail.
how is the communist party any different from the thugs and thieves we all know and love and show their faces on tv everyday? or for that matter “muslim extremists” in the south, who’ve done nothing to help make lives better for their fellows? we should call a spade, a spade, a tomato, a tomato and a bandit, a bandit.
