Carla’s entry about an article on entrepreneurship led me to the blog of Tony Lopez of BizNewsAsia.
In his articles, Lopez quotes Senator Manny Villar, who thinks that the most significant challenge that Filipino entrepreneurship faces is our own mindset regarding it:
The senator wondered why the Philippines haven’t progressed all these years. And he [...]

PLDT and PC Express: Role Models of Really Bad Service

I finally got to blog this morning after 5 days without a phone. Our phone died last Wednesday, apparently after a PLDT lineman was seen doing some sort of work/repairs near our house. Repeated calls to 173 went unheeded for four days, until I did the “very irate customer” act this morning and a lineman [...]

Yet another teacher abuses students
March 26th, 2006 · 3 Comments
Not more than a week after the case of a student who died after being made to eat pencil shavings by her teacher, yet another teacher put her students to humiliation — and this time had the gall to defend herself.
Susana Quiambao, a Grade 6 teacher of New Mabuhay Elementary School in General Santos City, [...]

According to the news report, nine-year old Delmar Redota died last Wednesday. According to the report:
Redota, a Grade II pupil at the Silangan Elementary School Main in Barangay Upper Bicutan had died before dawn, exactly a week after a teacher allegedly forced her [...]

There’s been an email circulating around the net lately, entitled “bus incident at ayala ave.”
It contains 12 pictures of a man with his skull apparently crushed flat. Several of the pictures show chunks of his grey matter splattered across the road, while the rest show the body being taken by police coroners.
I received two versions [...]

Mga Salitang Kathang-Isip
March 12th, 2006 · 2 Comments

Unable To Trust

A few weeks ago I received an email entitled “Open Letter to Our Leaders“, which discusses about a middle-class worker’s reasons for not joining the anti-GMA brouhaha. The letter, traced by Sassy Lawyer to this blog entry, drew both praise and criticism; praise from those who feel exactly the same way regarding what is happening, [...]

Some of those who regularly check this blog might be wondering what happened to me, or at least why I haven’t blogged for so long.
Well, I have a few excuses:
