When Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back first went out in 1980, the only people who knew that Darth Vader was going to say “Luke, I am your father” on opening night were George Lucas, Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), James Earl Jones (the voice of Darth Vader) and the sound editors who made the final audio cuts.
Actor David Prowse, who plays as Darth Vader inside the black leather suit, actually said “Obi Wan is your father” on the take.
